Everything's written in Dart, Google's answer to Node.js and a more structured approach to modern web app development and the event-driven, non-blocking architecture that is at the heart of our realtime app. In fact, we were the first Dart app in production, though we're now among an increasing crowd using the language and libraries:

We went the NoSQL route with MongoDB only to realize that its global write lock was a liability for such a realtime, write-heavy app as ours and so we're now on PostgreSQL. We recently moved everything over to AWS infrastructure.
Woven is based in Miami, but the right person can live anywhere amenable to working an EST day. We spend a lot of time on Skype, and use tools like GitHub and Asana.
