The Role: In this role as a Software Architect who is very hands-on and active in development, you will be part of a team that is building the next generation platform for Morningstar’s branded products. You will be actively involved in analyzing business requirements and researching technical solutions. You will help define the architecture & set standards for the various product development teams, and participate in architecture, design & code reviews in addition to being a regular contributor. As part of the team you will be involved in building the platform as a service, defining its interfaces and establishing security constraints. You will help bridge the gap between web applications and desktop systems by applying your experience in responsive web-design & your intimate knowledge of advanced UI technology frameworks. You should be proficient in the latest front-end technologies and have a thorough understanding of the HTTP specifications, distributed web development and be able to work across a variety of browsers. This role requires that you work in a distributed environment with multiple onshore and offshore teams, ensuring the architecture is consistent and fully integrated. This position is based in our Chicago office.
