Primary Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Developing SaaS and website products using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript/jQuery
- Reviewing application requirements and project documentation; asks follow-up questions as needed in order to gain a full understanding of requirements
- Working hands-on with both backend and other frontend developers
- Being involved in team architectural discussions
- Able to quickly transition through 3 week production release cycles
- Work directly with others (developers and internal stakeholders) to develop a solid understanding of the business application and requirements for which the application is being designed
- Assist others with questions regarding the functionality of applications
Desired Skill and Experience
The successful candidate must have the following experience, skills, and education:
- 5 plus years of experience in web development on the presentation layer
- Expert hands-on knowledge of HTML, CSS and JavaScript/jQuery
- Stays up to date on HTML/CSS standards
- Ability to translate wireframes and comps into extensible modules
- Exhibits understanding of HTML5 benefits, drawbacks, etc
- Understands differences and limitations of all browser types
- Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills
Bonus Points:
- Experience with JavaScript MVC frameworks (backbone.js, ember.js, underscore.js) a plus
- Experience using web templating engines
- Understanding of good SEO standards & practices
- Experience working with RESTful JSON Web Services
- Experience in developing for Mobile
- Understanding of MVC and SOA fundamentals
