We are currently seeking to add a Java Developer to our growing team.
Project description: The project is looking to implement a complex algorithm for calculating risk of CDS positions. The algorithm has had a prototype created, but needs to be transformed to be a fully enterprise-ready, production system including all necessary integration points. The system will be largely server-side work, written in Java and C++. Performance may be a factor, in which case design considerations such as being Grid-ready will come into play. There may be a small GUI created, depending on client need and prioritization. If so, the front end will be written with advanced JavaScript libraries. This project is of high importance to our client and has aggressive milestone dates. The ideal candidate will be a self-starting individual that loves challenges and winning together with his/her team.
Required Skills:
- Knowledge of design patterns, SOLID principles, particularly Dependency Injection
- Database development skills including SQL programming, solid understanding of relational database technologies, logical and physical data modeling.
- Experience with Oracle or similar database technologies
- Experience with the following web technologies: Tomcat, JSON, Apache, Linux
- Experience working in an Agile based development environment, using Agile concepts such as Continuous Integration, TDD
- Experience using standard development tools such as Eclipse, GIT, Maven, Bamboo
- Experience developing REST and/or SOAP based web services with application reuse as an achieved objective.
- Strong understanding of XML and how to manipulate using document based and stream based API’s.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with other developers and business client
- Must have experience working as a Java developer performing implementation/project work
- Time management skills & ability to multitask
- Knowledge of Java queuing services, specifically IBM Websphere or ActiveMQ a plus
- Advanced skills using J2EE Frameworks specifically and in order:
- Spring MVC
- Spring Integration
- Spring Web Services
- Spring Security (including OAuth)
- Primarily JDO, and secondarily JPA
- JAXB
- Hibernate
- JavaMail
- JasperReports
Preferred Skills:
- Frontend/Web development experience, with HTML 5, CSS
- Experience with Javascript, jQuery, JFreeCharts a plus
- Experience with EXT JS a big plus
- Experience with EasyMock
- Experience with Selenium, Cucumber, and JMeter
- Must have a keen eye for UI design aesthetics and attention to detail
- Experience with cloud based technologies including preferably Google App Engine, or Amazon Web Services (EC2, S3, MapReduce) a plus
- Experience with financial derivatives products a plus
- Experience with OTC financial products a plus
- Experience in working with FPML and FIXML protocols a plus
- Experience developing with, jQuery Mobile, jQuery Templates, RequireJS
