Front-End Web Developer (join our new Chicago office!) at Bluebeam Software, Inc. (Chicago, IL)

Bluebeam is looking for a highly skilled front-end web developer with a passion for making functionally deep web applications. . You should have strong experience with semantic HTML and CSS, extensive knowledge of native JavaScript, and familiarity with JavaScript frameworks like jQuery, Mustache, etc. In addition, you should be proficient in ASP.NET 4.5 and MVC as well as working with RESTful web services.

As part of a web development team charged with taking our flagship product into the future, you will have the opportunity to work with design, implementation, and deployment, in addition to a rich intuitive UI. You’ll be a key contributor in bringing a deep, proven desktop application to a web context and have a chance to ensure that performance meets critical standards.  You will also contribute to our technical roadmap. Working on the Bluebeam Web Team will give you exposure to a wide array of technologies such as large scale image rendering and interaction, interaction with real-time collaboration services, 3D Image Processing, and Complex Algorithms, just to name a few.

What we'd like to see in you:



  • 5+ years of experience in a related field

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher - Computer Science or equivalent field

  • Proven Web Development experience in .NET technologies, particularly C# and ASP.NET

  • Extensive knowledge of native JavaScript and JS frameworks such as jQuery

  • Strong understanding of JavaScript performance and optimization

  • Extensive use of APIs and understanding of HTTP and REST architecture

  • Strong UI Design Experience

  • Experience using OO methodologies in designing software solutions

  • Strong understanding of design patterns and  development frameworks such as MVC

  • Proven ability to work in a rapid release production environment

  • Passion for delivering strong dependable code

  • Full understanding of the SDLC 

  • Comfort with working in an Agile/SCRUM environment

  • Knowledge of industry trends in development environments, tools, and software technology

  • Strong ability to analyze vague problem descriptions and formulate effective solutions

  • Strong and clear verbal and written communication skills


What we’d love to see in you



  • Architectural, Engineering, design domain knowledge

  • Experience with AWS and EC2

  • Leadership or mentoring skills (Be prepared to discuss)
