Map the World. Any World: Build tools which will allow Wikia communities to create interactive gaming maps from custom images. Develop RESTful API service and clients for desktop and mobile (web / native). Skills & tools: Javascript, node.js, MySQL, Redis, HTML5, PHP, CSS.
The Tick Tack Challenge: Working as part of a small team, create a new mobile skin with a focus on performance using HTML5 and optimized CSS & JS – we want pages to load within 1s. Oh, and it needs to be 100% unit testable, too. Skills & tools: HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, and a good stopwatch.
Here Be Dragons: Rethink the navigation UI to be more in-line with our users needs and the specific nature of Wikia content & structure. Skills & tools: JavaScript, PHP, a piece of sunstone or some rum, arrr!
