How will a platform look like that enables distribution and consumption of any media, from text up to 4k video and beyond, at any time, on any device, from any source? Can such a platform connect users with creators, and provide a brand new experience to create, consume and share media of any kind?
Finding the technologies and the solutions for a future media platform and distribution is the key mission for a new Ericsson Research team we are now starting in San Jose. The purpose of this team is to dig deep into questions like:
- How to leverage a distributed, self-growing system while preserving the performance, latency and reliability needed to stream high-bandwidth media?
- What if the system could be imbued with network functions and knowledge to improve the utilization and efficiency while providing an ever-improving end-user experience?
- In which ways to leverage a distributed cloud to enable broadcast quality live streams, sourced from studios, field anchors and events, and end-users alike?
- Which approaches to use to store, transport and analyze both data and metadata, batch and real-time, to improve the efficiency of the system?
We are now looking for talented, passionate individuals to join this team, and develop a brand new platform with the aim of creating an entirely new way of consuming and sharing any kind of media. Join us in this exciting opportunity to create a piece of the future! We want people that think AND do, media services should obviously be something you are passionate about and you should be eager to try new things out.
