Soundfly is looking for a passionate, music-loving, top-notch software engineer to help realize our vision of a world where anyone anywhere can become a musician. We're out to make it easier and more engaging to learn music than ever before—and looking for an experienced techie to help lead us there. You will be joining a team of of musicians, educators and producers, helping us engineer an effective, scalable online product. We are a highly collaborative group, constantly questioning each other on the best ways to approach a new challenge as we invent new ways to make online learning more interactive, engaging and social. You should be willing to share your own ideas and not mind having your ideas questioned. This role has the potential to evolve into a CTO position as we build out our team. - building a beautiful product really fast, without creating a huge ball of technical debt in the process
- taking full responsibility for the systems you design
- communicating ideas, brainstorming, and debating with non-technical folk
- building out a team of scrappy, entrepreneurial engineers who can function well with limited oversight
- diving deeply into the nature of massive participation online learning, pedagogy, social learning, and game mechanics
We're open to someone who will work remotely but strongly prefer someone in New York City or Brooklyn.
