T-shaped Developers are what we are looking for to join a team working on a big data analytics product for mobile 'things'. We are looking for experience in different technologies rather than one or two specific skills. This means that you may have 10 years’ experience of software development or you could be a hero who has crammed all that experience into less years.
Definitely a hands-on developer you will be coding and scripting. You will be somebody who likes learning new stuff and being challenged. You will have deep skills in DevOps with the ability to use a wide variety of open source technologies and tools. With experience of high traffic AWS architectures and operations, you will be the team principal for designing and developing a highly scalable, available and reliable cloud based big data system.
You will work on the latest technologies with a guaranteed self managed budget for self learning/improvement. We use pair programming, Agile, Lean, TDD, BDD, CI … but we believe best practice is dynamic so this could always change if we find a better way.
Working in a team of peers you should be a self-starter/leader and ideally enjoy socializing with the Developer community about the work that you are doing.
