We’re looking for a seasoned, full-stack developer to get in on the ground floor and be Engineer #1 at our company. You will work directly with the two co-founders in continuing to build a best-in-class product. A successful candidate will wear many hats early on, and the position would likely evolve into the VP of Engineering role as our company grows.
More specifically, you will dive into code from the get-go and contribute bug fixes, new features, and test cases. You will ‘own’ major parts of the product and be responsible for their overall direction and quality. You will work to help build out our future engineering team, plan product milestones and shape the overall company direction.
Making HR tech cool.
We know the thought of “HR software” might make you think of insanely boring data entry screens or those crappy payroll portals. That couldn’t be further from the truth. What we’re doing for HR is much closer to what Mint.com did for personal finance or what Salesforce did for sales teams. Here are just some examples of the cutting-edge and challenging problems you’ll be working on:
- Mobile development, from responsive HTML5 to our upcoming native apps
- Tons of performance and scalability challenges (e.g. our automation engines run in the background and continuously process hundreds of jobs in parallel, and growing)
- Implementing and contributing to open source projects around OCR, Javascript MVC frameworks, QR codes, numerous front-end UI/UX components, and more
- Big data problems from query optimization to data mining (remember, when we add a customer, our user base doesn’t just grow by one, but by the hundreds of employees that work for that customer)
- Continually refining our understanding of UX best practices so that we continue to amaze our users with what simple and elegant software should feel like
