We're looking for a salaried full time support engineer with experience in Python programming. You will be joining an existing team of 11 to help our customers make the most of our server monitoring and cloud management service, Server Density - https://www.serverdensity.com

Telecommute is an option. Half our team work from around the UK and Europe using tools like Hipchat, Google+, Google Hangouts and Github to collaborate. And if you're in London, we have a custom designed office - http://www.serverdensity.com/office/ - which is also an option for this position.

What will you be working on?

  • Support engineering - all our customers are developers or sysadmins so need expert technical advice when they contact us. This often involves troubleshooting edge cases and helping them manage their infrastructure, through Server Density. This will mean responding to customer queries via e-mail and on the phone, and consulting with their technical teams to help them use the product.

  • Problem triage - you'll be responsible for determining when there are problems with our product, figuring out where the bugs are and logging them for investigation by the right person, with the relevant information.

  • Fixing problems - you'll be expected to investigate and fix as many problems as you can yourself, and engage with our engineering and ops teams to get issues resolved as quickly as possible. This means you'll be able to work directly on the product code base to get right to the source of customer problems.

  • Shaping the roadmap - as someone who will interact directly with our customers, you'll be able to help shape our roadmap based on their feedback and the problems you see.

  • Writing for a large audience - our blog at https://blog.serverdensity.com is extremely popular as we write about common problems and interesting developments we're experiencing. Tell people about the cool fix you made and why it worked so well.
