General Position Summary:
The senior front end developer will be responsible for partnering with the creative and user experience teams to execute the vision through all front end development initiatives. This candidate will have a strong ability to communicate and partner across teams to present innovative solutions to the creative process. This person will be an expert at front-end development and possess a strong ability to build and maintain highly available, performant, and secure eCommerce experiences.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
- Development of HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript/jQuery, and other code to deliver on project functional requirements.
- Ability to plan, design & develop rapidly evolving business applications (currently on a Node.js/AngularJS/MongoDB platform)
- Work closely with user experience designers while rapid prototyping and creating proof of concepts
- Establish front-end development standards and best practices and perform periodic code reviews.
- Function effectively in a high-volume, fast-changing work environment while managing multiple time-critical issues.
- Mentor development resources on best practices for front-end eCommerce development (performance optimization, multi-form factor development, etc.)
- Act as technical advisor to business owners, project management, user experience designers and backend development teams regarding front-end development standards and processes.
- Manage defect resolution and process enhancements for front-end development initiatives across the Columbia portfolio of sites.
- Maintain current knowledge of industry trends and developments.
