As a global social discovery network connecting over 90 million people, MeetMe has fostered relationships all around the world. But, as with all large networks, we occasionally encounter inappropriate or unacceptable conduct by a small subset of people. This behavior ranges from thoughtless to criminal, and can potentially degrade our overall member experience.
On MeetMe, the most frequent abuse is spam-related: Spammers deliberately target our members for commercial gain. We take these spam attacks very seriously and have spent a tremendous amount of our
engineering time and talent to build systems able to detect suspicious activity. Those generally responsible for building such systems are our software architects.
At MeetMe, a software architect is a highly skilled and experienced engineer who will be responsible for the end-to-end design, implementation, and testing of anti-spam systems for MeetMe.
In this role, you will be responsible for analyzing user behavior, finding anomalies, defining and implementing strategies to:
• Perform data mining and analysis on highly complex data.
• Apply statistical analysis to find patterns in the data.
• Develop the overall anti-spam and security strategy to make users safer.
• Hands-on development of spam traps, honeypots, detection systems, and related technologies.
• Explore state-of-the-art technologies to improve data analysis techniques.
• Champion anti-spam goals across efforts in Product and Engineering to deliver high quality
• Work alongside Product, Design, Project Managers, DBA, API, and Quality Assurance.
